Easily excitable Neal Page (Steve Martin) is somewhat of a control freak. Trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife (Laila Robins) and kids, his flight is rerouted to a distant city in Kansas because of a freak snowstorm, and his sanity begins to fray. Worse yet, he is forced to bunk up with talkative Del Griffith (John Candy), whom he finds extremely annoying. Together they must overcome the insanity of holiday travel to reach their intended destination.

When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose "help" quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.

When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.

Clyde Shelton's family is brutally murdered. Clyde's lawyer, Nick Rice, only has circumstantial evidence. Rice decides to allow one of the men to testify against the other as part of a plea deal. Clyde disagrees with this decision and begs for justice. Rice tells him that it is already a done deal, and the true killer goes free. Ten years later, the man who confessed is set to be executed by lethal injection. However, the chemicals have been tampered with, and he suffers terribly. The true killer is found tortured and killed in a gruesome manner. Rice suspects Clyde, and the police quickly bring him in. Clyde offers a full confession to these crimes, but not until all of his demands are met. Even in jail, Clyde is multiple steps ahead of Rice, and each unmet demand results in another murder. Clyde is declaring war on the system and everyone involved who failed to bring justice to his family's case. Can Rice solve the mystery of Clyde's plan, or will he and his team become his final victims...?

Batman (Val Kilmer) faces off against two foes: the schizophrenic, horribly scarred former District Attorney Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones), and the Riddler (Jim Carrey), a disgruntled ex-Wayne Enterprises inventor seeking revenge against his former employer by unleashing his brain-sucking weapon on Gotham City's residents. As the caped crusader also deals with tortured memories of his parents' murder, he has a new romance, with psychologist Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman).

New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages -- but him.

There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker's (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.

With the help of Alfred (Michael Caine), his loyal butler, and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), a tech expert at Wayne Enterprises, Batman is born.

In Middle Earth, an ancient ring, thought lost for centuries, has been found by the most unlikely of creatures, a hobbit named Bilbo. On his 111th birthday, Biblo disappears, and leaves everything to his nephew Frodo, including the ring. When the ring is discovered to be the One Ring of power, which could destroy all that is good, Frodo must journey to the lands of Mordor to destroy it and save Middle Earth. Along the journey, he is joined by three hobbit friends, a wizard, an elf, a dwarf, and two men of Gondor. Together they form The Fellowship of the Ring, and must work together and persevere to not only destroy the One Ring, but to survive as they are hunted by all of the forces of evil who are desperate to return the ring to their master.

"The Two Towers" follows the continuing quest of Frodo (Elijah Wood) and the Fellowship to destroy the One Ring. Frodo and Sam (Sean Astin) discover they are being followed by the mysterious Gollum. Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), the Elf archer Legolas and Gimli the Dwarf encounter the besieged Rohan kingdom, whose once great King Theoden has fallen under Saruman's deadly spell.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King presents the final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of Middle-earth. Frodo, Sam, and Gollum reach Mordor in their quest to destroy "the one ring". Meanwhile, Gandalf and Aragorn must unify and lead the forces of men against Sauron's evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith. Can Frodo and Sam finish the mission, will the armies of men survive the full force of Sauron's armies, or will the forces of evil prevail in this final tale of The Battle for Middle Earth?
