Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a thief with the rare ability to enter people's dreams and steal their secrets from their subconscious. His skill has made him a hot commodity in the world of corporate espionage but has also cost him everything he loves. Cobb gets a chance at redemption when he is offered a seemingly impossible task: Plant an idea in someone's mind. If he succeeds, it will be the perfect crime, but a dangerous enemy anticipates Cobb's every move.
In 1939, Kit Walker (Billy Zane) takes up his father's mantel as The Phantom. Also known as The Ghost That Walks, Kit has become the 21st Phantom in a long line of heroes that spans more than 400 years. With powers drawn from three ancient skulls, The Phantom must protect the world from his sworn enemies, the Pirates of the Sengh Brotherhood, and their new ally, the ruthless Xander Drax (Treat Williams), who seek the skulls for their destructive power.
Average Joe's Gym and its owner, Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn), are both down on their luck. A fancy competing gym called Globo-Gym, run by the maniacal health nut White Goodman (Ben Stiller), is about to put Average Joe's out of business unless Peter can raise $50,000 to keep his mortgage. To save the gym, Peter and a ragtag group of Average Joe's members and employees enter a dodgeball contest with a big cash prize. In response, White forms his own Globo-Gym team to rout the competition.
While shooting a war film, the director attempts to liven up proceedings by dropping the principle actors into the middle of a real jungle, in an attempt to capture their raw performances with hidden cameras. The stars of the movie, which include action star Tuck Speedman (Ben Stiller), comedy star Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), and 5 time Academy Award winner Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.), are completely unaware when a series of unfortunate events leads them into the middle of a real war zone.
Champion City already has a superhero, Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear). However, that doesn't keep three amateur crime-fighters, The Shoveler (William H. Macy), Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller), and The Blue Raja (Hank Azaria) from stepping into the fight. After Captain Amazing is captured by the villainous Casanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush), these Mystery Men must expand their team and prove themselves as true heroes. With their teams combined abilities: shoveling, uncontrollable rage, silverware hurling, cosmic bowling, incompetent invisibility and deadly flatulence, can this team of misfits become the heroes they so desperately desire to be?
